Dr. Jamal Carter began his academic journey at FAMU Entomology, where he developed a deep interest in the relationship between insects and environmental systems. During his studies, he worked on research projects focused on invasive species and their impact on native ecosystems. After earning his degree, he pursued advanced training and eventually joined the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In his current role, Dr. Carter leads environmental assessment projects that evaluate the ecological impact of pest control methods and agricultural practices. His work contributes to the development of policies that promote sustainable environmental management while protecting biodiversity. He is also actively engaged in mentoring students from underrepresented communities, encouraging them to pursue careers in environmental science and entomology.
